Sidewalk Ordinance

At the regular meeting of the Brown Township Board of Supervisors held Monday, August 20, 2018, the Board adopted Ordinance Number 2018-6 pertaining to Maintenance of Sidewalks and Curbs.

This Ordinance was required to comply with the requirements of the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant that was received to replace and improve the sidewalks on Main Street.

The Ordinance covers the general condition of the sidewalk in front of your property and when maintenance is required on the sidewalk. It also covers snow and ice removal on the sidewalk. The sidewalk must be cleared to a minium of 36″ to ensure safety of anyone utilizing the sidewalk in front of your property.

When the street in front of your property is slated for resurfacing, you will be contacted well in advance to make any repairs or improvements to your sidewalk before the road is resurfaced.

As always, please contact our office with any questions.
