The Board of Supervisors are pleased to announce that through the award of a DCNR Grant, a Marcellus Shale Grant, and with the help of the United Way’s Day of Caring, three new pieces of playground equipment will be installed at the Reedsville Playground over the next few weeks.
This is the second time the Township has received the DCNR Grant and the Marcellus Shale Grant, with the first time being when the walking track was built around the playground. The current DCNR Grant is for three pieces of handicapped accessible playground equipment, two benches placed near the playground equipment, three handicapped accessible picnic tables, the repair and/or replacement of the 26 pavilion posts and roof, adding 4 new GFI receptacles, adding 16 new vapor proof light fixtures with CFL lamps in the pavilion, and the planting of two shade trees behind the pavilion.
The Township applied for another DCNR Grant and Marcellus Shale Grant in 2018 to update the youth baseball field at the Reedsville Playground. The Township was awarded the Marcellus Grant but will not be notified until January or February of 2019 about the DCNR Grant.
