Sidewalk Ordinance

On August 20, 2018, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Sidewalk Ordinance for Brown Township. This Ordinance was required to be in place for the TAP Grant that was applied for to replace the sidewalks on Main Street. The Ordinance covers the repair of broken, cracked and damaged sidewalks. The Ordinance also addresses the removal of snow and ice on the sidewalk.

Every property owner will be responsible for the repair and snow/ice removal on the sidewalk in front of their property. When a repair is necessary to the sidewalk, the property owner will need to acquire a permit from the Township and make the necessary repair in accordance with the Ordinance.

A link to the Ordinance is listed below for every property owner to read. You are encouraged to contact the Township Office with any questions or concerns.
