Public Playground
Brown Township offers a nice public playground with pavilion, paved walking path, and park benches overlooking Honey Creek. The playground is located at 124 Honey Creek Road along the creek.
The playground has a ten-week summer program each year from June through August. This is a structured program for children from the ages of 5 through 12. Younger children may participate, but a parent or responsible adult must stay with the child. The Brown Township Board of Supervisors hires playground supervisors to run the program each year. They play games, do crafts, have cookouts, and take up to four field trips per year. The hours for the ten-week summer program are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The playground will open Wednesday, June 6th and run through Friday, August 10th.
The children are served a healthy lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays and a healthy snack on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. The lunches and meals are provided through fundraisers and donations from the Reedsville Churches and individuals and are organized by the Evangelical Lutheran Minister Carla Volland.
